Maybe it’s me but I don’t remember the dress selection at Target being quite so on point!! I feel like they nailed so many different styles of dresses and the quality is so impressive. Here are some of the best dresses at Target right now that you don’t want to miss. I’m also sharing sizing details, how to style them, and where to wear them.

The Best Dresses at Target: Florals
These floral pattern dresses are so sweet, I can’t get enough! And this is coming from someone who normally shies away from florals. These patterns and color schemes are so flattering, that they deserve a spot in any closet! See a few of these dresses in motion by watching this reel.
Balloon Sleeve Dress in Floral
If you are looking for a dress that transitions well from brunch to date night, or just a fun weekend look, then this is your dress! The puff sleeves are so fun! While the dress material has no stretch to it, the back has a smocked detail that allows for some give. Also, the higher waist makes it bump friendly for the first and most of second trimester! The other thing to know is the elastic around the base of the sleeve is pretty tight – tight enough that it became uncomfortable when scrunched up to my upper arm.
Overall I would say this dress runs pretty true to size (TTS), however, if you have a larger bust you may want to size up. I’m definitely between sizes and bought an extra small, but the small would have worked too.
Flutter Sleeve Dress in Purple and Blue
This dress is so darling!! The design of it makes it as easy to wear as a sundress, but with fun little details like the smocked section in the back, the cut-out in the back, and the little ruffles at the shoulder. I bought it in the purple color but the blue is so beautiful. It’s a tough choice!
To dress it up I would add a nice stack of bracelets, some nude heels like this pair, a cute clutch, and a simple updo hairstyle. For a more casual look pair with some simple hoop earrings and a pair of slides.
Tie Back Dress in beige floral
This dress is perfect for someone who loves neutrals but wants to venture into the floral department. The muted tones make it look so chic and classic – you would never expect to see the BACK of the dress as it is. I think that unexpected detail just takes this dress next level. The fabric has a nice linen feel to it but is not itchy at all. It runs pretty true to size and there is no stretch to it.
Two things to keep in mind about it, however. First, you will need to either wear a backless bra or a low back bra because of how low the opening goes in the back. Or, you could wrap the material around your bra back before tying the bow to hide your strap. Second, you need to have killer bow tying skills. The good thing about it is you don’t have to untie it every time you put it on. I recommend doing the bow and steaming it flat prior to putting it on for the best results.
The Best Dresses at Target: Event Ready
Here are some of the best dresses at Target for different events. These can work for things like wedding guest dresses, bridal showers, baby showers, vacation dresses, or date nights. Plus a few can be dressed down as well!
I’ll be honest, when I ordered this dress I didn’t have very high expectations. It seems this style dress either looks super cheap or totally high end. I was seriously blown away by the quality!! I especially love the square shape neckline – so chic! there are slits on either side that come just above the knee. I wore this to an event and got tons of compliments on it. I paired it with this crochet clutch, these braided sandals, and a few layered necklaces. You definately would need a strapless bra of some sort. This is my favorite one – really comfortable and stays up all night!
The fit of the dress is not too tight or too loose. I would say it runs TTS. Wearing an extra small here and love the fit. It comes in a bunch of colors including a gorgeous blush as well as a cream pattern. Click here to see this dress in action!
Easy Linen Tank Dress in Black Floral
I styled this dress a few ways in this reel so be sure to check it out for inspo on how to wear this dress for play, work, vacation, or an event. I think the pattern is so classy. The material is a beautiful linen blend, and not see through at all. It has a loose cut to it which looks adorable worn as is or belted. This is a dress I would dress up for a summer wedding, or even for a bridal shower.
As I mentioned, it’s a loose fit so no need to size up! The straps are adjustable as well. I’m wearing it in an extra small and the fit is as expected for a loose style dress like this.
Easy Linen Tank Dress in Magenta
This is the exact same dress as above but in this fun pink color. Color is so in for the season, so if you are looking for a budget friendly way to bring it into your wardrobe this is your dress! I can picture wearing this to brunch or dinner on vacation, a baby shower, wedding, or dressed down for an everyday casual look.
Again, the dress is loose fit so stick to your regular size or size down. Wearing an extra small.
The Best Dresses at Target: Everyday Chic
I love wearing a dress in summer because it’s easy (just one piece!), comfortable on hot days, and easy to transition from day to happy hour. Here are a few of my favorites dresses to style for the everyday!
The cross back detail is so cute on this dress! It’s just the perfect every day dress. It love it paired with wedge sandals, espadrilles, or flat slides. The high waist makes it bump friendly for the first and possibly even second trimester. It’s also nursing friendly with the cross front top. See this dress styled up close by clicking here.
I read a few reviews stating that the top was to large or gaped, but I did not find that to be the case. I’m wearing an extra small here, fit feels TTS.
This was such a fun surprise find – defanitely one of the best dresses at Target. I was expecting it to feel thin and very fitted like most dresses this style are. Instead, I found the ribbed fabric to be a really nice weight. The button henley tank style is so cute! I love that it is form fitting without being too tight at all. If anything I would say it runs a tad big. I can see this being a great everyday dress this summer. It also would be prefect to travel in – just layer with a denim jacket and pair with sneakers! I also styled this dress in this recent blog post.
Overall the dress runs a little big but I would only size down if you are truly between sizes. Wearing an extra small and loving the fit!
