Ok, so I know this is plastered all over Instagram so hoping you aren’t sick of these Nordstrom Anniversary Sale posts yet! Or at least wait until after you read this one. 😉 I’m going to talk about 3 reasons why I love this sale (& you should too!), the best way to shop the sale, some of my favorites finds from this year’s nSale, plus my favorite part – sharing a few ways to style some key pieces.
3 reasons why i love the nordstrom anniversary sale
It’s no secret I love a great deal! Usually, the best deals are at the end of the season with the exception of the nSale. This Nordstrom sale is really the only opportunity I have seen where I can snag on-trend and in-season pieces at end of season prices.
Second, I like to use this as an opportunity to inventory my closet and figure out where the holes are. Then I can gauge what items will carry me the furthest, based on what I already own.
The third reason is that Nordstrom makes it so easy to shop! Their shipping and returns are always free, and they don’t have a strict time frame. This means if you are debating about something, I highly recommend making the purchase. Items sell out QUICKLY and aren’t always restocked. If you decide against it later, you can always return it.
the best way to shop the sale
First – please please please set a budget. Even if you are getting a great deal, it’s never worth it if it is not in your budget!
Second, shop with a plan. Are you looking to fill a gap in your wardrobe? Is it your goal to have one killer going out outfit? Are you looking for a few versatile pieces that you will get a ton of mileage out of? Or are you looking to find one investment piece that will be a closet staple? When you can identify your plan, it makes shopping this sale so fun!
nsale finds + style tips
For reference, I am 5’8 and typically wear xs in tops and 2 or 26 in bottoms.
outfit one
I have recently been loving the look of leather shorts, so when I spotted these in the NSale I was super excited to try them out. These high-waisted faux leather shorts are on sale for about $35! The fit runs a tad small so I recommend sizing up. Wearing size 4. Check out all of these ways to style them!
This puff sleeve sweatshirt is such a cute twist on a classic sweatshirt. Wearing size small. Another very cute option that is on my wish-list but wasn’t in stock is this ribbed sweatshirt! Scroll through these pics for some ideas to complete the outfit.
outfit two
This free people sweater is probably one of my favorite finds! I love how it looks dressed up with the faux leather pants and shorts, and my favorite shorts! I’m wearing a size small here. Fit is oversized.
outfit three
I wish you could reach through the screen and touch slouchy sweater – softest ever! I love the slight blush color and oversized fit.
I love how it looks with these shorts, but it would also look great with either relaxed fit or skinny fit jeans. Paired with some tan booties and you have an easy chic outfit!
outfit four
Madewell makes some of the best cardigans, and this color block cardigan is no exception. The color blocking with neutrals makes it beyond perfect! Paired it with the faux leather shorts but it would look fantastic paired with denim or dresses too! This is definitely one of my favorite items from the sale!
outfit five
Another cute way to style these faux leather shorts is with this mock neck sweater and a camel-colored coat. I love this color combo of black, cream and camel so much! It could easily be my uniform colors! Wearing size small in the coat (they didn’t have xs in stock) and I liked the fit. It is supposed to be a bit oversized and I didn’t feel like the extra room swallowed my up.
I can see getting so much mileage out of a top like this. I love the creamy color and the fit is not too loose or too tight (wearing xs). Plus the slight puff sleeves are such a cute detail!
How cute would it look with styled with any of these items below??!
outfit six
A color I cannot get enough of is rust…especially for sweaters!
This split hem sweater is so crazy soft! There are actually two similar sweaters I saw in the sale. One is a cashmere blend and under $60, and then there is the one I am wearing in these pics – it feels as soft as cashmere but is about $40.
I thought it was a super cute way to style both the shorts and faux leather leggings.
Speaking of leggings – the iconic spanx leggings are included in the sale this year! I snagged them last year and got so much use out of them. They look great dressed up for date night or dressed down with a sweatshirt. Another great find this year are these faux leather leggings…they are on sale for under $30!
aaaaand that’s a wrap
