Have you ever tried a seasonal subscription box? I’ve loved the idea of it, but never have because I was afraid the items wouldn’t be a fit for me or the overall quality would miss the mark. I was recently gifted the winter box from CAUSEBOX to try it out and was so excited to share the details with you guys. Originally, I was just going to do a short IG post, but as I used the products and learned more about the brands behind the products, I knew I had to share more with you guys. My hope is that if you, like me, have been on the fence about subscription boxes, this post will help you decide if it’s a fit for you! Plus, I’m sharing a really great discount code for you at the end of the post!
As a family we have really worked to try and make smarter choices with what we buy because beyond the product is the product impact. Some brands have made distinct efforts to support a cause – from reusing, recycling, and water waste awareness, to helping provide fair and meaningful employment to areas in need of an economic boost. Not only do we respect that but we want to support that!
I was so excited to find that the winter box from Causebox was full of ethically manufactured and sustainably designed items (+ $250!!) that I could actually use – and some I have been eyeing for a while. There are other box options you can choose, but here are a good six reasons to try a sustainably designed subscription box.
one – thread & supply cozy cardigan
OKAAAAY guys this it’s so hard to pick but this miiiight be my favorite item in the box because I am all about the cozy layers right now!! It’s made from recycled water bottles and is guaranteed to be the softest item in your closet. The fit is nice and slouchy, and the color is what my neutral-loving dreams are made of!
two – boon supply reusable zip pouches
I have been looking for a set of pouches but tbh I wasn’t convinced of the quality or design. Like, how complicated will it be to wash out a ziplock?? Well, if it’s these – not complicated at all! The quality is SO so good. I love that the variety of sizes are perfect for a quick snack on the go or storing leftovers in the freezer. I have already used these so many times for Shiloh’s snacks. They are so perfect! Other reusable pouches I have seen just don’t match the quality of these.
three – skin&co roma truffle therapy face toner
I am obsessed with this facial toner. I have made a big effort to take care of my skin, so was very excited to try this. The key ingredients are black winter truffle, witch hazel, rosemary, and calendula so it helps brighten and tighten your skin while protecting it from environmental stressors. My skin loves it!!
four – true moringa rejuvenating body polish
This body scrub is ahhhhhmazing. I’ve also been using it on my over-washed hands (#nurselife) which to me is the true test because, baby – my hands are so happy! This scrub smells so good and works even better. Plus a little goes a long way. Winter in CT is harsh so this is the perfect addition to keeping my skin healthy and nourished. Prior to this, I hadn’t heard of moringa oil but it is super moisturizing (without feeling greasy!). The True Moringa company is planting trees, and helping prevent deforestation and malnutrition in Ghana where these resilient trees are grown!
five – ettitude travel beauty pillowcase
Just to be clear, this is called a travel pillowcase because it comes with a silky soft travel bag so you never have to be without your new fav pillowcase. This is the essence of sustainable living meets luxury. I literally never want to sleep on anything else! Ettitude uses clean and earth friendly practices in manufacturing their bamboo fabrics so it’s a feel-good product to your heart and your face. Hypoallergenic, silky soft, thermoregulating, frizz-fighting AND sustainable practices 🙌🏽 make it a major win in my book!
six – soon skincare peony foot masks
This product was the biggest surprise for me in the whole box. One glance at the other products and I just KNEW they were a perfect fit for me…but a foot mask? Let’s just say my experience with foot products has been very underwhelming so my expectations were quite low.
You guys – these. were. ah. mazing.
I made it a whole self-care experience – showered with the scrub, treated my face to the truffle toner, cozied up in my new cardigan and favorite joggers, and put these babies on my feet while I dove into a new book. Ahh my feet were so soft and smooth after! Like post 60-min pedicure with all the works kinda soft. Very hooked! (Fun fact: “soon” means smooth and pure in Korean. These totally live up to their name.)
so there you have it:
The six reasons I fell in love with CAUSEBOX. They also include a booklet in the box that shares behind the scenes of the companies, plus a few extras like recipes and life inspo.
If you want to try it out for yourself, go to www. causebox.com and use the code RAEFORREAL25 for 25% off your first box. It’s normally $50 but you get at least $250 worth of products. Let me know if you try it! I would love to hear your thoughts! If you snap a pic and tag me on insta I would love to share it!
