If you haven’t guessed yet, I love a good sale. Sephora is doing their spring savings event, where you can get some good deals by being an insider, vib or rouge member (just use code springsave). I’m doing a round up products that I’ve tried and loved, as well as products that are on my wish list because of rave reviews. I’ve always loved reading product round-ups because (one) I hate wasting my money and (two) I want to simplify and maximize my skin-care and makeup routine. For a little background – my skin is mostly normal to dry & my problem areas are sensitivity, redness, dullness, and some hyperpigmentation. So, my goal is mostly to address those things, but almost any skin care routine can benefit from these products. I know this looks like a lot of products but I touched on so many different areas. Hopefully you find some new gems in this product round-up for the Sephora Spring Savings Event.
Sephora Sale – Just The Basics
Every skin care routine needs a good cleanser, mask, eye cream & face moisturizer. These are the building blocks to healthy, happy skin. Here are some products that do not disappoint!
The Makeup Eraser – Just add warm water. Seriously! One side is for cleansing and the other is for exfoliating. I have been using this almost every night for months and have zero complaints. I love that the cloth itself is antibacterial, I don’t need to add any cleanser to it & that it’s so easy to travel with. I find if my mascara is stubborn, it will come right off by using nice warm water and holding this cloth over my eyes for a few moments. Then the mascara swipes right off with no tugging.
Laneige Lip Mask – If you watch my stories, then you likely have heard me rave about this. It lasts forever and works so good to keep my lips soft and hydrated. Working in a hospital is not kind to my skin and lips. When I started using this I noticed a huge difference! If I forget to bring lip balm to work, it’s not quite so tragic anymore. It is 1000% due to this lip mask. I use it every morning & night, and plan to do so from here on out.
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask – My skin was literally glowing after one use of this. Firm, smooth, and dewy skin is always a good thing…need I saw more?? It works people!
Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask – OKAY I have not tried this but it’s one item on my wish list. There’s over 700 5⭐ reviews where people swear it has transformed their skin from dull to glowing. I’m a huge fan of this brands face lotion so I totally believe the rave reviews. I love that it’s an overnight mask so you can alternate it with you nighttime face cream.
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG – there’s a few products from the ordinary in this list because the products deliver and are at an unbeatable price point. I have heard great things about this under $7 eye serum when it comes to reducing puffiness & dark circles – I’m excited to try it!
The Inkey List Retinol Eye Cream – I’ve been using various types of antiwrinkle eye cream for over 10 years and swear by it. This brand is new to me but also comes with high recommendations. Reviews say it can be drying but retinol is one of those ingredients that you have to build up tolerance to. I would also layer with a hydrating lotion!
Youth to the People Adaptogene Deep Moisture Cream – this is one of my go-to face creams. It’s richly moisturizing but doesn’t leave my skin greasy and can be used year round. The ingredients help protect your skin from everyday environmental stressors. I notice my skin looks bright, calm, and overall healthier when I use this.
Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturize – This is another face cream I really love. It’s anti-aging and has peptides which help form the proteins like collagen and elastin that our skin so desperately needs. While you can absolutely use this during the day, I like to use it at night and really layer on this creamy goodness.
Sephora Collection Nourishing Moisturizer Hydrate & Repair – although I haven’t used this moisturizer, I had to include it as a budget friendly option. Many reviewers compared it to Drunk Elephants Lala Retro moisturizer, which I’ve used and felt was so calming & hydrating to my skin.
Sephora Sale – The Special Sauce
These are products elevate your skin care routine by getting to source of what your skin needs to get it’s glow on. It’s like the cherry-on-top / special sauce of skin care.
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% – When I first looked into The Ordinary, I felt like I was trying to read a chemists book. When I got past that, I found so many gems…like this one! So many reviewers say it’s very similar to Drunk Elephants Baby Facial. I’ve used both and can see why people say that. The main ingredients are almost exactly the same. Results-wise this is a very close second. It’s a chemical exfoliant meaning it uses skin safe acids to help rejuvenate skin and work on those pesky fine lines and full spots. Also it’s just over $7. Win!!
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask – If you want an exfoliant that makes an instant and impactful difference on your skin, then this is your product. While The Ordinary makes a really good exfoliating mask, this one has the added chickpea flour and pumpkin extract to help your skin look so radiant. Plus I love that it meets the “clean at Sephora” standards, which basically means it’s a product formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, and other toxic ingredients. A clean product that delivers as promised is goals!!
The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder – …aka Vitamin C. Vitamin C is so important for your skin – it helps with pigment issues, environmental stressors, wrinkles, dryness, uneven skin tone – so much! The problem is vitamin C can be irritating to skin or it can come in forms that our skin can’t really utilize. Tricky, right? This under $6 option is great because it’s a powder that comes with a tiny scoop so you can tailor the amount you want to use. Just mix with your lotion/serum/face oil in the A.M. and you’re good to go! The downside is you don’t know exactly how much you are adding so it’s a little trial-&-error, ya know? I found about a quarter to third of a scoop is the sweet spot for my skin.
Sunday Riley C.E.O Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil – The first time I used this product I Fell. In. Love. Not only does it have a stable form of vitamin c in it for wrinkles, dullness and hyperpigmentation – but there’s other skin healthy ingredients like tumeric & ginger to really get your glow on. The world of serums can get pretty pricey, at $40 this is a steal, especially for how well it works!
Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum – I recently started using retinol for it’s anti-aging and skin clearing benefits and have never looked back. I like that this one is strong enough to impact complexion without being too irritating. I started out using 3 nights per week and now use it about 5. Always apply at night and always make sure to use sunscreen during the day.
Drunk Elephant A-Passion Retinol Cream – I have heard great things about this retinol cream and am excited to try it. It’s stronger than the Sunday Riley one, and also has added peptides and vitamins to improve skin firmness and texture.
The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane – another product I haven’t tried yet but was impressed by the reviews. The under $6 price makes it a budget friendly option if you’re looking to start introducing retinol into your skin routine!
Sephora Sale – Hair & Make Up
Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette – This pallet took me from a mascara-only girl to eyeshadow fan! I use the shimmery colors to highlight my inner eye, the deeper shades for date night/smokey eye looks, and the peachy tones for an every-day natural look. The colors are super pigmented and stay all day!
Fresh Sugar Lip Balm Sunscreen Spf 15 – I love how this softens, moisturizes, and protects my lips while adding a hint of color that lasts! Such a favorite for years. The shade Sheer Rosy Tint in the satin finish is my go to. (Check out this gift pack special with it while it lasts…such a great deal!!)
Becca Under Eye Brightening Concealer – This is a creamy color corrector to help cancel out those dark under eye circles. I’m looking forward to trying this! I love the under eye concealer I currently use, but this one is also brightening and illuminating in addition to concealing.
Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand – I have this product on my wish list. I love the pretty glow it gives – it’s like a cross between a blush and a highlighter.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick – I plan on adding this to my very slim lipstick collection. I love that it’s hydrating and long-lasting, while still being matte. The reviews on this are outstanding – with 155k “loves”. The colors Very Victoria and Pilow Talk are the perfect pinky nudes that will go great through spring and summer!
Erborian CC Cream Radiance – This is the closest thing I get to wearing foundation. It hydrates, blurs imperfections, minimizes pores and evens skin tones hydrates…all while protecting your skin with SPF. And it totally fits my criteria for glowing, radiant skin. I seriously love this product!
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 – This has been on my wish list for a while! I have heard so many rave reviews about this leave-in hair treatment. It apparently works miracles on hair that’s dull, fragile, or damaged. Sounds great to me! You can use it a few times a week and apply to damp hair, let it sit for 10 min, then shampoo & condition.
Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer – This is a UV & heat protectant and a major frizz fighter for your hair, which is great. But what I really fell for was the fresh-from-the-beach tousled waves I had after spritzing on damp or dry hair. This ends up being my hair go-to in the summer.
Sephora Sale – Mascara
Mascara is my jam. If I was stranded on an island and could bring one makeup item, it would be mascara (obviously assuming I’ve got my lip mask and SPF lol). Here’s three mascaras worth checking out!
Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume – This is such a budget friendly mascara and works SO GOOD! I love the deep black pigment and it makes my lashes look so full without clumping. Probably my second favorite mascara.
Too Faced Better Than Sex – This has been my go-to for years. It’s richly pigmented and volume boosting. To be honest, it is very similar to the Sephora Collection above, but I feel like this one stays put longer without being waterproof.
Fenty Beauty Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl – I haven’t tried this one yet, but am so intrigued by the brush! It’s flat on one side to help lift your lashes. Seeing as I’m totally lazy when it comes to curling my lashes, this sounds like a good option. Reviewers say they get long, voluminous lashes without clumping. That’s pretty much #lifegoals.
So there you have it friends! There are so many awesome finds in Sephora, but it can be overwhelming to sift through all of the products. Hopefully you found this helpful to round out your skin care and makeup routine. Leave a comment if you’ve tried any of these or you have a favorite product I missed!
