Have you ever come across a beauty product that you just need to tell your mom, bestie, and pretty much anyone who will listen about? That’s basically what this blog post is all about. Out of everything I own in my beauty collection, these are the 10 hands-down, ride or die, must-have beauty products I never want to be without. They made the list because of how they elevate, simplify, and enhance my everyday routine. It’s also a perfect mix of high/low priced beauty items.
top 10 must-have beauty products
dermaplane razors // lip mask // tula eye balm // lash serum // b hydra // clay mask // scalp massager // blue shampoo // ceo glow // face wash
1 // Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
I’ve used this product every night (and sometimes day) for years! I smear a good layer on my lips before going to bed and wake up with super soft lips. If I’m going to wear lipstick I put a dab on while getting ready and before the lipstick to keep my lips from looking dry and cracked. I love the texture, how well it works, and that one little container last foreeeevvverrrrr!
2 // Scalp Massager
This is one of those products that I probably wouldn’t have sought out because seeing it I would think – how is this any different than using your fingers. You guys, LET ME TELL YOU this little product is one of the most relaxing and spa-like beauty products I now own. It cost a few dollars and totally elevates any self-care moment. The spikey nubs on it are strong enough to give your scalp some tingle but soft enough to keep you from cringing. I use mine in the shower when I shampoo or on dry hair before I go to bed. Love this!
3 // Drunk Elephants B Hydra
I think this product is so unique! This is a serum I use day or night, alone or layered with my other skincare products. My skin tends to feel more dehydrated in the cooler weather so I usually apply it with another moisturizer. The difference it makes is noticeable! I also like to mix a dab of this with my retinol because it keeps my skin from feeling tight or looking irritated.
Here’s the important stuff to know: it has vitamin B5 to attract and lock in moisture, pineapple ceramides to give smooth skin texture and add a natural glow, and sodium hyaluronate(a hyaluronic acid) for hydration and firmness. Such a powerhouse!! If I was to own one Drunk Elephant product this would be it because I haven’t found any other comparable product this effective.
4 // Tula Rose Glow Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm
This is such a versatile undereye treatment – I use it alone, under, or over my makeup. It’s cooling, hydrating, and has caffeine in it to help de-puff around your eyes. There’s also a very slight shimmer to it (not like glittery though or something that’s even noticeable) to help the appearance of dark circles. This is the kinda product you want to use in the morning and then carry it around with you for any time you’re feeling a little tired-looking.
5 // Grande Lash Serum
I am SO happy I tried this! It was a product recommended to me and it works so well. After about 3-4 weeks I could see a difference in my lashes. Then after the recommended 6 weeks, they looked even longer and fuller! Like with any lash serum, once you reach the look you want, you have to apply it once or twice a week as maintenance. I totally slacked on that and my lashes gradually went back to their norm. This is a great option instead of false lashes or to strengthen your own lashes while getting eyelash extensions. I had a patient who once asked me where my lash extensions were done, but the only thing I was using was this serum!
I’ve been using this for months and have yet to run out so I can’t tell you how long it will last you – but I do know it’s a long time!!
6 // Dermaplane razors
Have you shaved your face yet?? If not, you have to try it!! It’s such an awesome exfoliant for your skin, helps products work more effectively, and lets any makeup sit so much better on your skin. I’ve tried a bunch of different razors and these are the best. In this top 10 list of must-have beauty products, this is probably the most intimidating one for most but TRUST ME – if I can get the hang of it then you can too. First, do a quick YouTube search of DIY Dermaplaning. There are loads of tutorials. I prefer to do it over clean DRY skin but you can also use an oil. A couple of mistakes I made in the beginning – pressing too hard, not holding skin taut enough, and going over the same spot too many times.
Have you ever noticed how men’s skin is so soft and youthful where they shave despite never having an 18-part skincare regimen? It’s the shaving exfoliation! My skin looks so much better since doing this. I had lots of tiny little bumps on my chin that have pretty much cleared up since doing this. It takes like 2 min to do but has major payoffs.
7 // Sunday Riley CEO glow
Vitamin C is SO SO important for your skin – it’s healing, brightening, antiaging, & helps with age spots, skin texture, and wrinkles. It’s also one of the trickiest products. It can be very irritating and if not processed correctly is basically a useless product. From what I have researched, it’s more expensive to bottle a stable version of vitamin C that can be absorbed by our skin. If you find a Vitamin C product for very cheap, I would question the quality of the product.
This vitamin C serum is so good! It also has turmeric in it as an added anti-inflammatory. One application and I can see a difference in my skin – it’s brighter and has a glow. It’s super hydrating and not irritating at all to my skin. I’ve tried other vitamin C serums but I keep coming back to this one.
8 // Aztec Secret Healing Clay Mask
This is such a great mask and it’s also super affordable! The directions recommend mixing it with Apple Cider Vinegar for extra skin benefits – that’s my favorite way to use it. You can also just mix with water and see great results. It’s detoxifying and tightening to pores, helping clean them right out. If you have dry skin I would definitely recommend not keeping it on too long because it can be too drying or irritating. Try starting out with just a few minutes (like 2-3) before leaving it on for the full 10.
9 // Blue Shampoo (& Conditioner)
This one is for all my fellow brunettes with highlights. Skip the purple shampoo and opt for this blue shampoo. It does a better job at canceling those orange/brassy undertones that creep up. This one is affordable and has worked really great for me.
A pro tip from my hairdresser – keep the shampoo on longer than the conditioner because that’s where the magic happens. The shampoo helps open the cuticle of the hair to allow the blue to really get in there and cancel those brassy/orange tones. The blue conditioner is moisturizing but doesn’t affect hair tone too much because it seals the hair cuticle, making it harder for the blue color to cancel any of those other tones. I still use them both together every time, but if you were going to opt for only one, go for the shampoo.
10 // Equate face wash
My top 10 must-have beauty products list would not be complete without this cleanser. I shared this product once in my Daily Shop (a series of random favorites I share with you guys). If you haven’t tried this face wash yet, give it a go! It reminds me so much of a high-end face cleanser from YonKa but is under $6. It’s cleansing without being drying, does a great job at removing makeup, and contains ceramides to improve skin texture. Sometimes I use it twice as a double cleanser or with my PMD cleanser. Trust me, this is worth the trip to Walmart!
That wraps up the top 10 must-have beauty products list.
Have you already tried any of these? Any of these products surprise you? I would love to hear about it! Leave a comment or visit me in my DMs to let me know. Also, are there any ride-or-die products you swear by that I need to try for the next round-up?? Let me know!!
As always, thanks for visiting, reading, sharing & pinning. It helps my little biz more than you know!!
xx, rae
